Summer + Fall Reading List // What I am reading
I am 8 books behind on my 52 books in 52 weeks goal, but I finished two books yesterday! Hoping I can catch up soon. I have been in book overload, there is so many good ones out there lately that I have LOVED or am DYING to read.
First things first, here’s what I’ve finished over the summer:
The Road Back to You and the Sacred Enneagram: I realized since my last post, I haven’t shared my deep obsession with the enneagram, it’s real and thriving. I read several books in just one week about the enneagram.
Heart Talk - I LOVED this book. If you follow me on insta, you know. It was so refreshing and positive. I got it from the library so spent most of the time reading it yesterday taking pictures of my favorite poems, can’t wait to have my own copy to write all over and cherish.
Less - A fiction read about a man who evades his lovers wedding by traveling the world instead. It was clever and witty and everything I needed in a love story.
Inspired - Rachel Held Evans has quickly become someone I adore and admire. I loved this read. I underlined SO MUCH and left feeling like I learned more about myself and the bible, but most importantly I knew Jesus better.
You Think It, I’ll Say It - From the first short story, I was in love. I could not put this book down. Each story is hilarious and charming and perfectly reflects our culture today. MUST READ.
The Last Black Unicorn - Tiffany Hadish is QUEEN. That is all.
I’m Still Here - Austin Channing Brown is a gem. She was in Austin speaking and I am still kicking myself for missing it. She is kind, but firm and her book was eye-opening and important.
The Female Persuasion - I think I loved this read because I related to it on so many levels. College was pivotal time for me as I learned to navigate the world as a woman, which is what this story is centered around.
Little Fires Everywhere - AHH. I also loved this. I loved too many books this summer, I sound like I do not have a critical bone in my body. But, seriously a gem about a teenage girl and the world around her.
Women & Power - A series of lectures turned fast read. This one will get you fired up and terrified at the same time.
On my unending to-read list:
Rest by Alex Soojung-Kim Pang
Remember God by Annie F. Downs
Text Me When You Get Home - by Kayleen Shaefer
The Divine Dance by Richard Rohr
Nudge by Richard H. Thaler and Cass R. Sunstein
Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle
& finally (for now) Jesus Feminist by Sarah Bessey.
Tell me what you’re reading and what I should add to my list!
